I ordered a replacement fuel lift pump for my long 360. The top of the upper housing has a flat metal seal. The original pump has a dome shaped cap on the upper housing. I am trying to find out if I need to install the domed cover on the replacement pump before ii install new pump.
An internal screen filter sits at the base of the domed cover. It seems to me without the domed filter the is no way for fuel to wash through the filter. The replacement pump came with a gasket that would fit at the base of the domed cover....so it seems to indicate it should be installed on the new pump.
