Can anyone recommend a reliable log splitter for a 20hp compact tractor? This is to be used only for my own use- probably 5-6 cords/ year- logs no more than 12" in diameter. There are so many choices out there- thought someone may have a good option for me.

TSC sells one for $599. You will need a rear hydraulic outlet to make it work. It may not be fast, but will meet your needs.

This topic has been discussed quite a bit recently on this site a little search will give you a wealth of information. The in's and out's of 3PH log splitters and stand alone units has been covered very well.

Timber Wolf is the only 3PH log splitter that I have looked at. The hydraulic power comes from a PTO driven pump which makes the plumbing easy. They are a well made unit for which you will pay a little more for.
