Finally had time to build this baby log splitter. It is about 8 tons and does what I need it to. Built it for under $250 with parts from Surplus Center.

Yes I split some 8" oak with no issue.

Yes a cradle is in my plans. Have a few other things at the top of my list now so it my be awhile.

3 in cyl, 1.5 shaft

At 2500 psi you would have 8 ton +

At 3000 psi you would have 10 ton +
