I have an invisable fence brand fence for my dog and have a break in the line somewhere. I know there is some way to locate the break using a transister radio but don't remember the procedure. Can anyone help? The line is partially buried and I have searched for breaks but it is a pain in the butt. It is about 3 acres of area.

Put on your dog collar and walk the fence location. It will move your pain from your butt to your neck, but when it quits zapping you, you have found your break.:D Sorry, I don't have a clue. Can you just watch your dog and see where he gets out?

Funny, real funny. When there is a break the fence stops working all together.

Sorry, again, I didn't understand how they work. I looked them up on their website, this is what they recommend. Hope this helps.

They will come out for $65 per hour and look for the break. When I first had it installed 15 years ago the original company told me how to find a break. Now it is a big secret and only they can find the problem. I have always been able to find the breaks fairly easy but this time not so. I just have to trace all the exposed wire. I was hoping to not have to walk through poisen ivy and crap to find it. If needed I will run all new wire.

With a user name like yours can I assume that your in the HVAC field ?

If so then I'll also assume you have a pretty decent Fluke or equivalent meter ?

I thought it was supposed to be buried, hence the name "Invisable Fence". But sounds like you've gotten pretty good service out of it if it's lasted for 15 years.
