I recently went to see a display of restored, preserved or merely cared for and valued machinery, exhibited by a few rather enthusiastic owners. It was actually a fund-raising event to support a local non-profit organisation. As you may notice, I'm just a little one-eyed, but I do genuinely enjoy seeing all machinery of yesteryear being preserved so youngsters can understand "how things used to be done".
Here's a sample of what was there to see. There were also beautifully-restored stationary engines running all day, some driving water pumps, and also driving compressors to run a couple steam engines!
1. A lovely Ferguson "Copperbelly".
2. A neat MF 135 - exactly how ours looked when brand new, even down to the tyre sizes and tread patterns!
3. One of two well-cared-for MF 1155s - a really uncommon sight in this area.
4. A nicely-restored TEA28 with a "half-track" kit - for working soft ground or for minimising soil compaction.
5. On parade - the other 1155. The gentleman driving was even kind enough to stop when he saw me aiming up for a photo. Note the CAT on the truck in the background, and the nice Fiat 450 following.
6. Another rare sight - a Chamberlain - a C670, Diesel.
7. Even rarer than almost anything else on display - a Case and a Minneapolos-Moline - both 4cyl petrol/kerosene, don't know which models. Anyone who can help - pleased to hear from you.
8. Early Fordson "Corky" with Kero engine - built in Cork, Ireland. Cannot recall the exact model, again, any help is much appreciated.
