I am trying to load my rear tires with WW fluid at home. Got my drill pump, WW fluid and the valve adaptor. I know the pump works because fluid comes out hose.
I have the rear tire jacked up slightly off ground, with valve stem in 12 o'clock position, and have bled all the air out of the tire itself.
I can't get anything to unscrew off the tire stem itself, including the threaded part, or, the little pin on the inside of the tire valve. I can screw the adaptor directly onto the value stem itself, but there is nothing on the inside of the adaptor to press down on the little pin inside, so no fluid can get inside the tire.
Others on this site have talked about unscrewing the tire stem/valve. I can't figure out how to do this. Are there some kinds of tires that have a valve that does not unscrew?
This is a brand new JD 2210 and the tires are turfs that came with the tractor.
suggestions? thanks!!!!!!!

I recently filled my tires with fluid. Observing the valve stem I found your typical valve stem and dust cover. Closer to the rim was another part (the core) that screws off. On my tires, this was a steel ring. On one tire, I was able to remove it using my hand. I had get the pliers for others. Make sure you are truning counter clockwise to remove.

I would not recommend trying to fill with the valve stem in. The volume will be so slow you will think nothing is going in. You also run the risk of over inflating the tire. A real no no. You would have to remove the adapter each time to bleed the air. You need to figure out how to remove the core.

It could be on tight, just try not to damage.

I pulled up you manual, it wasn't much help.

Go to your local auto parts or tractor parts shop and get a valve core removal tool.

The valve core unscrews to allow the liquid to be pumped in.

By the way, when you get the removal tool (cheap...couple of bucks, if that), get a pack of valve cores too. Odds are, you'll lose one...and they do go bad now and then.

hooray! success! I got the valve core tool: looks like a little pocket screwdriver. Got the valve core pins out, filled the tires just below the valve stems, and then added about 10lbs pressure. I bled the pressure off repeatedly while I was filling the tires. Used the drill pump and it worked great. I used a mixture, mostly ww fluid, some antifreeze (new formula) and some water. (very little water). When the valve stem started shooting back water, I let it run out completely, put the pin back in, filled up with air, and it worked perfect. I figure I have about 14 gals of fluid in each rear tire.
thank you to everyone for telling me how to do this. All in all, I spent $6.97 for the drill pump at H. Depot, $2.35 for the valve adaptor at T. Supply, and about $22.00 for the fluids. The dealer wanted $200.00 to load the tires, plus $65 to come and get the tractor and bring it back.
Thanks to the nice people on the web site I now know how to do this, safely and correctly, and I have saved a bundle!

That's really great Buckie. You're picking up this tractor stuff pretty fast. Nothing seems to hold you up, you just do it. Glad it worked out.

By the way, you've probably read this all over already, but it bears repeating: washer fluid and antifreeze may kill dogs or cats, so if you have a pet, make sure they stay away from any spills -- or if you get a flat.

Good job, Buckie. I used WW fluid in my tires also. Did that years ago and they're going strong. The only thing I did diff was to drill a hole 180 from that valve stem and add another one. With both cores out, filling was instant. (Almost.)

Another way to fill the tire is to lay it flat and break the bead...flood the tire with WW solvent and reinflate...works pretty well.
