I recently bought my B3030. I asked the previous owner if the tires were loaded and he said No.

Since I estimated the filled tires would weigh about 400# and my only loader is the one on the tractor in question, and I knew that Pete's Tire Barn does on-site loading I called and made an appointment. BTW, if they can come on their schedule rather than yours there is no charge for this. They only charge for the actual time doing the work once they arrive.

First problem - I had left my phone at home, and didn't think about the fact they might call about the appointment until about 11AM. When I called to give them a different number they said they had already been but couldn't fill the tires because they didn't feel comfortable driving their truck to where the tractor was and the key wasn't in it. I apologized for the inconvenience and explained I had left the key under the seat. They said they were still in the area and would be back to do the job before the end of day.

The next call was to inform me that the tires were already loaded...!

Again, I apologized for not checking, and accepting the PO's statement. I told them I was more than happy to pay a service call fee or whatever they wanted to call it. They insisted it was no trouble and only asked that I call on them the next time I needed anything tire-related.

So, first of all, don't trust what a PO tells you. And second, if Pete's Tire Barn serves your area I can highly recommend them, and consider this post as part of my duty to thank them. BTW, I have used them for other service, including loading my small tires that I took to their shop.

That sounds like Wally over in Chesterfield! ;-)

Great fellow, I do all my tires there.

I had a tube split in one of the front tires on my backhoe. Being late in the day I bought a new tube from Tractor supply and it was utter junk. While trying to stretch it over the wheel it ripped. I could understand if the wheel had a metal burr or a sharp edge but the tube was too small to work. The next day I called Pete's and bought a Firestone brand tube. They recommended going up one size as the tube for that particular size tire was designed to fit a few smaller sizes as well. Good people to deal with.
