i have a mf 1250 with a 1246 loader. i would like to make the bucket a quick disconnect. i have looked for a weld on kit with no luck.has any done this?

Have you tried here? http://www.preseeder.com/PDF/AttachProductList2010.pdf. Looks like they list your loader for the loader side and they sell the weld on plates for the bucket.

I have the exact setup that you have and just this weekend I was looking at an way to easily disconnect my bucket so I could mount some forks (I have a frame and forks from a walk-behind fork lift). I want to build something to mount the forks frame to, and then easily attach the forks when I disconnect the bucket.

I don't need the quick attach skid steer feature (although that would be nice) but I would like it easy to mount and dis-mount the bucket, the forks and an assembly that holds a three point quick hitch, so I could mount my rake or blade out in front of the tractor.

I'm not in a big hurry to change attachments but I would like to make it easy to do so. I also want to keep the cost LOW.

The pin type attachment, that techwrtr2 showed a link to, sounds interesting.

I went to that link and then to the home page and found the manual link for the attachments. I'm going to call them tomorrow.

I just got off the phone with the manufacturer and have some information of the Tach-All and the Weld-On plates.

The QA-MF1 Tach-All lists for $754

The three Plates List for:
Universal Mount Open Center $!74
Universal Mount Solid Plate $211
Light Duty Plate $119

They will not retail but only sell through dealers. If no dealer in your area they will work with one you select to get them to handle the sale. He didn't say it but indicated very strongly that the prices were LIST prices.

thanks for the links.i was just going to clean up the bucket and paint it.but i like the idea of a quick release bucket.im thinking of cutting off the bucket bracket and adding a plate to the bottom of the bracket.then adding a wider plate to the bucket. add a hook to the top of the bucket and im done. sounds easy, we'll see. i looked at a jd 460 loader and i like the quick release. i work at a place were i can buy scrap steel at .10 a pound. if i make it myself i can do it so less then $20, welding rods are not cheap.i add sum pic i hope i worked

I think that MF never bothered to prime their buckets. My bucket looks just like yours. I need to take mine off and paint it as well.

Was it straight forward to remove the bucket by taking out the pins? Is there anything to watch out for? How about putting it back on? Will I have to wrestle with the cylinders?

Having access to ten cent steel is a great perk! Keep us posted with pics and your progress.

taking the bucket off was easy. i have not tried to put it back on.there was no primer on the bucket. there will be.the paint did come off hard,it was tough paint. i made a log hauler with chain saw box it still needs a little work

The JDQA (John Deere quick attach) you posted is a great system for smaller loaders, it comes standard on all the JD's. It is very light, and does not push the bucket out further both of which reduces the lift capacity. The parts are also easy to replicate, and not that expensive to buy from JD either.
