Adding rear remotes.

I am dry fitting it all together. I miscounted on some of the fittings so I am waiting for another order. It's a good time to paint the mounting plate.

I finished painting and assembling it all. Everything seems to be working ok. I just have a couple of leaks where the qd's thread onto the bulkhead fittings. I used plumbers paste and really cranked them down so I don't understand why those would be leaking. All in all a this was a fun project and I learned a lot.

Re: Adding rear remotes.

if they are NPT threads, they are designed for a few tightenings. You distort the threads every time you tighten them. Well used NPT treads might leak even with thread dope.

I would used plumbers tape and dope (paste)!!!!

Re: I am starting my remotes project and sure would appreciate help

Sorry, meant to say check on the relief pressures. I think you said to set them to the loader relief pressure. The remote valves are preset to 2500 psi.

I found that there is a published port relief setting on the loader lift circuit of 4000 psi. I am not sure if this is significant for my install?

The valve might can handle 4000 psi, but the pump can't, so set the loader relief at about 50 to 100 psi below the pumps max pressure. Then set all relief the same.

Thanks and Yes it's the only NPTF threads on the entire install. They are difficult to get to to tighten. I have to disconnect them, remove them and bring them over to the vice to tighten. Oh well I'll get it done. I have one jic fitting that was existing on the tractor that I hase been leaking a drop on the floor overnight. I have been tightening that one an eighth of a turn a day. After the last turn it seemed to have made it worse so I am wondering if I could have over tightened that one. Any suggestions?

Re: Adding rear remotes.

Either get a new hose or a new fitting on the old hose.

Switch to JIC fittings.

Thanks JJ

I'll dig through the paperwork and determine what the factory settings are so I can finish this out right. I remember the comment on the 4000 lb setting was related to pressures that can build up due to forces on the loader itself from say pushing or pulling with the bucket. I am also not totally understanding where pressures can be a problem based on different settings. I believe the pump pressure relief valve is in the hydraulic block and first inline. I also remember reading that the system pressure is around 2200. With the remotes being 2500 lbs my novice thinking was that maybe the 2500 on the remotes would be good because it wouldn't limit the loader, but again I am not sure so I'll confirm the settings and ask again on how to make the adjustments to the settings. Honestly, I was avoiding this step because I was nervous about making adjustments to pressure settings.:confused3:

Re: I am starting my remotes project and sure would appreciate help

I would say to go with the tractor hyd blk relief pressure as that was designed into the system to protect the pump.

Since the pressure goes through the hyd blk first, that relief will be the master relief, and all other reliefs should be set to the hyd blk relief.

It will not do any good to set the loader or remote relief to a higher pressure, because the hyd blk relief will relieve at 2200 psi.

Hey 2funkids, sorry for pulling up such an old post but I was wondering if you had any hose clearance issues where your remotes are located behind your seat when you raise your 3 point? I have a 1526 and am adding a top and tilt, thought that looked like a great place to put remotes!
