Loader on a super steer

Has anybody tried to use a 16LA loader on a super steer tractor? I've got a TC45D with super steer and found a great deal on a 16LA loader. I heard there was a clearance issue but was curious if anybody has tried it.

I haven't tried it, but the 17LA loader sticks out about 4-6 inches further than the 16LA to give extra clearance. Those front wheels do move quite a bit forward on the central pivot when they are turning.

There is the reason for the longer main frame. I would get the correct loader for the tractor. For the small amount of money difference it would be alot less headaches.

I've always been intrigued with the issue of SuperSteer and the 17LA loader. My gut tells me that the only time you would have interference would be when the loader is digging (arms nearly all the way down) and you make a severe left or right turn. Who would do that? What action with a loader would bring all those things together? The only thing I can imagine is when using a set of pallet forks and maybe trying to position a low load. Certainly, I can't imagine doing it when digging dirt.

Doesn't PineRidge have SS? Maybe someone with SS can tell us how often their front axle would end up in the "danger zone" with a 16LA loader.

Oops! Chris, I see you also have SS. So maybe you can tell us how often you make severe turns that would interfere.

Ski-rude, if you found a deal on a 16LA, does that include the subframe and loader posts along with the joystick and hydraulics for the loader? I'm not sure the subframe would fit on a SS tractor. That's one thing that would need to be measured and verified.

If the threat of interference was small and I could buy a 16LA for a very good price, I'd sure be tempted to do it.

I'm not at the farm to check right now, but from memory the central pivot starts moving as soon as you start turning the steering wheel. It isn't like the turn starts first with the wheels turning, then finishes to the extreme by using the central pivot. I do a lot of mowing around objects and trees, and frequently turn the steering wheel to the end-points. I think the 17LA loader loses a little lifting weight capacity since it is out so far, so if there was a way for the 16LA to fit New Holland would have used it. If the loader was free I might try it, but I think New Holland made two different loaders because they weren't interchangable. I will be out at the farm next week, and if nobody has posted in the meantime, I'll put up some overhead shots of the wheels and clearances with the loader as a turn occurs.

I used to have a TN75S SuperSteer with the correct loader. I found it unnerving (and I've been using loaders for almost 50 years). At slow speed when you turned one way the bucket jumped the other. I rammed the tool boxes of my dump a few times. Also when fully turned the SS becomes almost like a trike tractor with the front wheels set to facilitate a rollover. That being said it was usable, but I'd definitely get the correct loader. The front axle moves a lot and starts to pivot quickly. I've heard the loader on a TC SS is no where near as bad as the loader on a short wheel base TN.
