(Posted in TYM forum before I realized it would get more exposure here)

I have a T454 and I'm a little new to tractors. Using the FEL today I felt a "pop" or "snap" in the joystick. No hydraulic leaks. No other issues.

Now the joystick won't raise the loader. All other functions work fine. The joystick control will lower, dump and curl the bucket...just won't lift it. The joystick is complete limp...no resistance at all, when moving it to the rear (lift position).

I've removed the cover and boot around the joystick but don't see any obvious problems.

Of course the manual is of no use. I can't find an online diagram or parts catalog and can't call the dealer until Monday. Hoping someone might have some insight into what might be the issue.

Here's a few pics of the joystick control box (not sure what it's actually called. It appears to be a sealed unit. The cable that controls the inoperative cylinder appears to be attached at the hydraulic control manifold. I tried to loosen/remove the cable from the cylinder but it's still attached somewhere in the box. So I'm at a loss as to what to do next. Any advice or suggestions?

Is the ball end still on the cable in the joy stick?
In the photo the cable with the arrow is extended, is the valve in the float position?

Just went through something like this...bucket went to the dump position without joystick input. You have a spool valve that is on the hydraulic control valve. One spool controls the up and down the other controls dump and curl. There is a positioner spring in each one that returns the spool valve to neutral when you let go of the joystick. On mine the spring fitting had come loose not allowing the spring to work right. Also the control cable had some play in it. I adjusted and tightened the cable. Took apart the spool valve and cleaned everything up and greased the spring and tightened the fitting. Problem fixed !!! Took about 5 hrs. to fix... Not hard to do, just take your time and make sure everything is clean before re-assembling. I have pics to help you

I don't know. I unscrewed the cable out of the black box (is that a manifold?) but it won't come out far enough for me to see anything.

No, it's not in the float position. It's not in any position...it's just loose.

I found your thread...but this is a different problem. But now I know what to look for when the seals go bad. Thanks.

You have to go to page 7 and start with post #66 on my thread to where I found the problem to be the spool valve and a loose cable.

No, it's not in the float position. It's not in any position...it's just loose.

When you unscrewed the cable did it come out of the phenolic block completely or did it pull the joy stick handle.
If you trace that cable back to the hydraulic valve is it connected to the valve or has the clevis become disconnected.

I disconnected the cable at the hyd control valve, didn't mess with the joystick end. Mine had a pin that connected the cable to the spool valve at the hyd control valve. This is my Kioti parts diagram but should give you a idea what it looks like.

It pulls the joystick handle.

It's connected. Not loose, not broken.
