Loader cylinder stops question

I am converting a trip loader to hydraulics. Do I need to include bucket stops to prevent damage to the cylinders? If so, please explain.

It would depend on the cyl dimensions as to whether you need to mount stops before the cyl touched the frame.

If you can not get exact fit, then you may need stops.

Thanks. I am not concerns about the cylinders hitting the frames. I was told that I need stops to keep the cylinders from bottoming out.

Cylinders can bottom out at full extend and full retract without causing any problems to the cylinder.

Ask whoever told you that, what happens with no stops?

Here is an old loader that I used to have. It has one bucket cylinder, I think it came that way, not converted from trip latch.
