Loaded the rears on the 3320

Loaded the rear tires on the 3320 this morning, 2 gallons of antifreeze and the rest water in each. What a difference it makes. I had been dissatisfied with the R4s being able to back the 3320 out of a drainage collection basin at the end of the drive way. The deep loose sand always just gave it a fit. Often I would have to dump half the load in the FEL and wiggle my way back out. With the loaded tires out she comes.

I always thought the 1000 lb backhoe was sufficient counter weight for the loader, but man was I wrong. The loaded tires have turned this thing into a beast. I was able to do in 15 minutes what had been taking 30. Should have done this two years ago. Gosh, I love my tractor.

Amazing isn't it? How much more traction your tractor has, and how much better it feels. I contrast the day the tractor was delivered, with the dirt work I done this morning. On the day it was delivered, I went to the gravel pile just for fun, and lifted a bucket of gravel, just to remind myself how worthless a tractor without proper ballast and loaded tires is. And not only worthless, but "scary" as well. The tractor bounced all around with the slightest movement with a load on the loader, now it is very stable.

So you put anti-freeze and water in your tires and then do you fill them with air? I could really use some weight on the back of my JD 4200

I rolled the valve stem to the top after adding the antifreeze, then filled them with water using an adapter I bought from Gemplers. I let any excess water bleed out and then put 20 psi of air in the remaining space. I figure the tires are about 70% or so full of water/antifreeze.
