Kubota B3350HSDC returned for a B2650HSDC
the b2650's with a cab have a issue of low air flow for the condenser and radiator, due to the oem battery blocking most of the air flow..
during mid and late summer, the a/c was barely keeping the cab cool...
most lithium batteries with the same cranking amps are less than half the size. allowing more air flow....
also with the smaller battery, it is now easier to blow off the condenser and radiator, when they get clogged with debris.
not sure if it's worth the expense yet..... time will tell.

I don't know that much about these new LI batteries. I've read some really weird stuff about being quite specific in their applications. Be sure you do your "do & diligent" research before you spend that much money. Is the charging system on your tractor is compatible with a LI battery.

What type external charger do they require.

was looking at the replacement batteries at the harley dealership. the cca was close to what the tractor requires.. just need to go online to find better prices...

I've been out in 100° heat with my B2650HSDC, and I can't run the A/C at it's coldest setting. I have to add some heat to keep from freezing my diabetic butt off. You may have some other issues. You might want to check your freon level, and make sure your radiator screen is clean.

Agreed. I don’t think the battery is inhibiting air flow enough in a noticeable difference to a Lithium battery (size-wise). My cab A/C is very cold as well. I’d do a freon check and a hose job (with soap) on the radiator and condenser area before a mod to the battery.

My A/C has issues on my L4060. But every time I check it's because the condenser is plugged. Dust & dirt packs in there pretty good at times. Its not always that obvious either.

I wouldnt get a lithium battery for a tractor. I have one that would likely fit that I got for mobile HAM radio stuff. Charging voltages are different enough you shouldn't swap the 2 types unless you get one designed for drop in automotive type use with a proper charge controller.

be aware lithium, have temperature limits, (can't freeze) and high temp limits, also need a special charger generally. not quite sure they are ready for tractors yet

Yup, *if* you can keep them happy they're amazing, however violate any of these and capacity degrades very fast:

- keep above freezing
- keep under 85F(this is how your cellphone dies from charging).
- keep under 90% charge
- keep over 10% charge

SLA likes a floating charge while LiIon hates em, unless you've got a system with the proper thermal management and charging I imagine it won't last nearly as long as SLA. They can sure provide a lot of juice however.

thanks for the battery suggestions.
as for the tractors a/c. it has never performed well.
the freon has been checked by dealer and myself. pressures are in the normal range.
i have a wand, that i use to reverse blow the radiator and condenser on a regular basis.
there is a tremendous amount of debris that collects on those screens.
there is a surprising amount of garbage that gets through the screens...
currently i remove the screens clean and while they are out, back blow the radiator and condenser several times a day when mowing or whenever the a/c stops cooling.
even when everything is completely clean, the a/c never gets real cold. also the air flow is weak when the fan is on high.
my former tractor: a defective b3350's a/c would run you out of the cab, if you ran it at full cold and the fan on high...
the tractor is out of warranty now. so i'm planning on pulling the roof, to inspect the air ducts and evaporator.
as the condenser, when clean can be looked through.
i've even pulled the battery several times to ensure that the lower part of the condenser and radiator was getting clean, making sure the pressure wand that i made, was actually cleaning the debris out...

You might have an issue with your HVAC system. It might not be a refrigerant issue,, maybe pull the roof and start looking at the blend door setting or to see if something is deteriorating inside the HVAC box. I see vehicles that don't heat/cool properly with delaminating foam on the blend door allowing warm/cool air to mix. Broken blend doors, foam coming unglued, bad adjustments of the linkages in the HVAC box, things of that nature.

Maybe start with checking high/low side pressures when the system is not operating properly on those very hot days, I suppose it could be overcharged.

Good luck you'll find it.
