Link to an old thread, get the main forums page instead

Is there a way to get at older threads? I've used links to threads and end up at the main forums page. The link format is different, that much I can tell. I don't have an example, suppose I could find one if it would help.

If I click the link, I get the main forums index page. Looks like the forum made a change at sometime and the links are formatted differently.

The posts are not gone, just the old links to them no longer work. Try using the Search function and you will eventually find what you are looking for.

I doubt it. That'd mean reading through every post looking for an old link and trying to figure out what message it originally pointed to.

Well, the link shows it was post # 735401. Now how we find that, I don't know.
