Hi,

I have a problem with the actuator on my Kubota BX2750 snowblower and I'm hoping someone has a suggestion for solving this. I think the problem is a fairly simple one, but I'm not exactly an electrical whiz kid.

Last season I mounted and wired a switch for controlling the vertical action of the chute, and it worked great all year. This year, I installed the snowblower on the tractor, hooked up the connections and tried it. The actuator went down into its lowest position and that was all she wrote. It would not respond to any power from the switch. I checked for power from the switch to the trailer type connector end and that was fine. When I reconnect the trailer connector from the snowblower, there's nothing.

So I thought maybe I was due for a new actuator. Hooked it up this morning, and nothing happens. Again, I have power to the connector, but it doesn't seem to get to the actuator. I also checked continuity on the hookup and there's no broken wire issue.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Phil

It sounds like the pins in the connector are not making contact. Unplug it and hold a temporary wire connected to 12 volts, on the pin in the connector for the actuator to see if it runs.

Try the old actuator on the bench with little jumper wires, does it work?

Also check the ground connection.

Will it work with no load attached? Could be binding in the chute?

Are you certain that the switch is providing real 12V reversed polarity power? There's a possibility the switch gave the actuator a full 12V in one direction, but failed when sending the voltage with the reversed polarity. It would be easy to check that with a couple jumpers to a certain voltage source like Xfaxman said.

Tested the unit on the bench. It worked fine. Also checked all the connections behind the switch and all of that looks good as well. ???

If it is a two wire system, it should be easy to find the bad connection with your meter.
