Lincoln weldanpower with a LN-7?

Well I got a LN-7GMA from work for free the other day :thumbsup: it needs some paint, a gun, and a feed roll but it works, save for the preflow, and purge/cold feed switch.

Now the only CV power supply I have is my weldanpower 225 it will do 20volt at 200 amps not bad! When my current mig is lincoln weldpak 100hd (feel the power of 100amps! *sizzle* :laughing

So I trying to figure out how to best attach A to B.

I see a 12foot 400amp gun on ebay for $135 with a lincoln tail end. A

Anybody know a place online to get a roller for feeding lets say .035 I guess I can us it with .045 if I tighten it enough.

So anybody go any tips on either the LN-7 or the weldanpower?
Cant wait to get this set up, I need to burn together the mount for my wind turbine and I dont want to open a new can or rods. (ok I'm spoiled by GMAW)

These are for an LN-8, so you might want to call and confirm they will fit an LN-7!

Ok it seems from reading the manuals I need a K241 contactor kit....ya not buying that.

So made a little stub cable that I can attach the stinger to instead of having to take it to to bolt to the hermianl block. Then I wired in a section of a extension cord into the rear for 120volt now to just get a gun and some feed rolls.

Time to sleep.

Are you sure that feeder can take 120-volts? Some feeders will only take 24-volts. I don't really know just asking.


I have this same gun, but in the 15-foot version. I like the 15-foot gun but sometimes when running .023 wire they can be a problem.

Yep, it takes 120v saw in the manuals when I was cross comparing and it runs when I put 120 to pins 31-32(D-E) on the rear.

That gun is pretty much what I was looking at.

That's a nice gun! I know the feeder can take 400 + amps, but you won't get that out of your power source. Are you sure you want to put up with such a heavy gun, or do you plan on getting / using a bigger power source at a latter date? Those 200-amp gun are really light.

Just bought that gun I was looking at, now to just find a a feed roller. And a can of lincoln red or gray

Got the gun and hooked it up now to give it some paint! Lincoln Gray or Red?

I think they're generally red, but it does seem like I've seen a few gray ones. How about pink?:laughing:
