I saw a ln25 wire feed unit for sale what would I need to power it??? old tombstone arc welder ??? thanks

Do you happen to know how may OCV, (open circuit volts) the tombstone puts out? I seem to remember the LN-25s will only take 72. The first version of the LN-22s would only take 49 OCVs.
Without CV you're pretty much stuck with self shielded flux core wire. And most likely .045-inch at that.

I do not have a tomb stone I should have asked what should be used to power the ln25 I asked because I saw a ln25 for sale for $600 and curious if this was a good welder or not?? I used tohave a Lincoln 175 mig looking to get something to weld a little heavier stuff trailer ect

Most of my experience with LN-25s has been on engine drives. I have used mine with my Lincoln V350-Pro shop machine. You want to be real careful hooking an LN-25 up to most Tig machines! Like the old Miller 330A/BPs. They will take the contactor out of the LN-25s in just a couple minutes!
In my opinion the LN-25 is about the best remote wire feeder you can buy. I've run them at 450 to 500-amps 10 to 12-hours a day for months at a time, with not one problem.:cool:
