well guys I bought the lincoln 140 mig from lowes......im going to go to welding school in august so I thought I'd go ahead and start trying to learn.......heres a pic of some 1x1 1/8" angle iron I welded.....I've only had about an hour of welding experience to date so be nice guys...:laughing: .....im still learning....

Looks real good to me! But you have one hour more experience than I do!:D

Is it the same model HD carries- 140hd? $529?

WOW, that's not bad at all!:thumbsup:

Try holding just a little longer, and close up the stick out when terminating each weld. An under filled puddle / crater is a real weak spot.;)

Nice, real nice looking.
Are you going to classes to learn to weld proffessionally?

If my first weld (30 plus years ago) looked like that well....
I would not feel a need to go to classes.

I looked at both in person and it sure looks like the same one...the only difference I saw was the HD behind the 140...the home depot guy said the same.....

im going to classes just to learn.....I own an appliance service business (for 20 years) and theres not any need for welding in it but my dad (77 years old) always taught me that knowledge is something nobody can take away from you....:thumbsup:

Well, I took a welding class about 30 years ago, and have been fumbling ever since. I am tickled pink when I get welds that look like that. nice work.
