Limburger and onions sandwiches?

It's good. Can I ask where you learned to make it.

I have not found anyone else that makes it.

Just trying to understand where this came from.

My grandparents owned a local café and I spent a lot of time there as a toddler.

The only thing I was allowed to snack on was dill pickles, catchup and day old bread.

So that was my snack and I liked it.

As an adult, I changed it up a few times, experimenting with peanut butter and/or Miracle whip on crackers.

Adding cheese just happened in the past few decades.

So now my favorite is
cracker
peanut butter
dill pickle
cheese
Miracle Whip
catchup - but spicy hot salsa is even better

My Dad used to make peanut butter and Miracle Whip sandwiches occasionally to take to work. I remember one time asking him about them as a boy. He said they were "good", so I tried one. Absolutely disgusting. Had to drag my tongue around on the carpet to get the taste out of my mouth (clean version).

My father used to eat peanut butter & tunafish sandwiches. Tried it once. Wasn't as bad as it sounds, but once was enough!

I've never had Limburger cheese but the onion sandwiches I've been eating for years. Basically pickled Vidalia onions on toast. Very good. Limburger cheese reminds me of Spanky and the gang. I don't remember the exact premise of the episode but I remember them gagging and Alfalfa getting it mixed up with his chest rub. That was quality TV.
