My experience with like buttons is they only create useless yapping like this thread. If it’s an election I vote no.

It's not that using a like button is lazy exactly, it's that anything else takes too many clicks. Won't say why you agree with someone? If it matters that you 'like' a comment, why doesn't is matter who it is that does? That degree of shyness might be for lurkers. I'm just not comfortable with what trolls might do, if that's one of the reasons shared by many to skip the unnecessary complexity and possibly spurious influence.

This is very much an information-sharing place. It's what we ourselves add or learn, not the accolades of out teachers (IMO that's everyone here), so we can quote as we comment, if you have something to add or to troll-in about. If strong feelings aren't worth more than a click to express, "you jus' yappin' wi' one finga, brah!"
