Can anyone shed some light (no pun intended) on what is the best way to put more front and rear lighting on a 4310 tractor. I know JD has two light kits and I was wondering how easy to install those are, also whether I need the bigger alternator, and whether or not there are better aftermarket lighting kits available.

Is there a simple location to plug in a light set?

I don't need the lights now, but when old man winter arrives I find myself out moving snow in very dark conditions and was a little dissapointed in the stock lighting on a 4310.

They are very easy to install and are very good lights.
Instructions come with them and the instructions are easy to follow.

For my 4710 I got the light guard kit for the flasher lights that are mounted to the outside of the roll bar & 4 work lights from John Deere. If I remember correctly, the 4 work lights were in 2 kits. The 2 foward facing lights are mounted to the top side of the guards on the outside of the roll bar. The 2 rear facing lights are attached to the inside of the roll bar with the same bolts that attach the flasher lights.

I got the John Deere kit and it works great for snow removal. The lights are slightly angled out. I'm using the stock alternator and it seems to work fine.

On my old 4300 I had the stock dual rear work lights and they were very bright probably pretty close the same brightness as my new 55 W KC lights.
