Progress today...got the shank mounted. The shank is square with the angle iron. Pics may look like it's not but it's the angle. Have to drill the holes, mount the bolts then it's off to work.:D

Very nice looking....Things always seem to work just a "little" better when you build 'em yourself too.

Nice Job. I don't think you have a problem, but if you were concerned with it twisting on the mount under the ball, you could use a chain or metal rod of some sort and connect it to the lower pins on the side of the hitch. But then you would be able to angle it. Just a thought. Nuce job it looks great once painted will really look good.

Thanks guys. Gave 'er the first test today clearing some trails for the kids at the back of our property. I could not be more pleased with how the rake worked, and held up.:D Saved me hours and hours of work and more importantly for me...saved my back! Oh...and it was loads of fun.:D

New landscape rake from the dealer...$350......

Building it yourself for a fraction of the price...and it works...priceless!:D

Next will be a few coats of paint to pretty 'er up and then we'll call this little project done.;)

I think next on the list will be making a "tine clearer".

From what other people have told me you might want to take a coupld of pieces of 1 inch strap and drill a hole on each end and in the middle then bolt it together a few inches above the bottom of the tines to help hold them together. Makes them a bit stiffer at the bottom

Good idea, think I'll add that to mine.
