JD 750
Any body know the lifting capacity of the 67 loader , on a JD 750 tractor .

I put 960 lbs of weight (steel plates) in the bucket , it will just lift them , but it struggles, wouldn't attempt to lift them all the way

drop to about 800 and it seems to do ok .

I have also read that it is good to have some counter weight on the tractor .

Will the 750 lift the back end off the ground without any counterweight?

I hooked mine under the back of my pickup , just to try it , it doesn't lift the back of the tractor

thanks

Joe

Here's the info from the old manual I had on it. Hope this helps.

Mine wouldn't lift the backend off the ground, but it would lift the front.

Thanks for the info helps a lot .
Mine is also set up with the 1075 psi relief .
I did hook up a pressure gauge to the relief valve . The boom raising circuit read around 1100 psi (close enough to 1075) or so .
The boom lowering circuit read about 900 psi .
Just out of curiosity I switched hoses and hooked the lowering circuit to the side of the relief that read 1100 psi and it raised the tractor with no problem .

I switched them back, and am not going to worry about a the down pressure , not that important since I can get it to "almost" lift the front.

I did do something that I thought was kind of funny , with about 800 lbs In the bucket ,( about a foot off the ground) I got off the tractor and went around back , grabbed the three point hitch arms like a wheel barrow and easily lifted the back of the tractor off the ground.
I could actually do it with one hand !!!!!

So I guess it is as close to being able to lift the back end as it is going to get .

thanks again for the info .

Joe,

If doing heavy loader work it is wise to use some type of ballast in the rear. Besides safety it takes weight off the front axle assembly, which will benefit bearing wear and make steering a bit easier assuming you don't have power steering. The tractor was a lot more stable for loader work when I had the backhoe attached.

I really liked the 750 and wished I'd have kept it for my Dad to use.

My tractor does have power steering , so that Is not much of a problem .

Is there a recommended weight for ballast on the tractor using this loader ?

I know that how far off the back of the tractor it is makes a difference .

I am going to build a rack for the 3 pt hitch , (to keep the weight close to the tractor ) to add some steel plate I have .

Does the manual suggest how much weight is needed ?

Also wondering if it mentions the cu ft capacity of the 54" bucket .

thanks again

My manual showed up today, the 54" bucket is listed as 6.54 cu ft capacity or 1/4 of a yard.

It also recommends a MINIMUM of 308 pounds of ballast at the 3 point hitch.

JoeJchin,

I don't have any of the manuals for the 750, so I'm glad to see others step up and answer your questions.

If you plan on keeping the tractor any length of time and doing the work yourself the repair manual is very valuable. In many cases they used actual photos versus the illustrations and the hydraulic circuits were color coded. With any luck it is still available.

Overall the loader capacity seemed not to be as strong as my neighbors B9200 Kubota which is nearly identical in size to the 750. There were several times we were working side by side and his outperformed mine. The Power steering is an add-on to the JD 750 and steals a bit of hydraulic capacity from the loader. This would impact the cycling rate (time to lift up and down) versus max lift capability.

Maybe this will help. They might be available from your JD dealer. Or course you can always search ebay.

FYI... If you push the control lever that moves the loader arms downward forward enough it will go into float and release all downward pressure. If I remember correctly there was a detent in the stroke, so there was some tactile feel the FEL is in float.

I think you meant to say if you push down the left lever, which controls the boom, not the bucket, it will put the boom in float mode.

I bought the manual off of ebay for $12, musty stench was free.
