(2 Units) Bolens Iseki H-1502
On the shaft that the lifting eye arms there is a bolt in the center and short bar that is used to center it . does this need to be there once the unit is operational? It seems to loosen and the centering bar seems to be prone to break the bolt in the center of it . Any thought on this ??

No,but if you take both arms off without short bar then that shaft could work out
and rip up your tires.

Just as a follow up here are a few pictures of what I think you were talking about.

I believe when everything is assembled correctly item #4 shouldn't
come in contact with anything to put pressure on it to break the bolt.
How much side to side movement do you have.

Item #4 is held with the bolt that threads into shaft but with movement of hitch up or down , causes it to loosen . Should I grease the shaft where they pivot on the shaft , to relieve the pressure on that where they attach , which would make the arms turn and slide easier on the shaft .

If part #4 is not there what stops the bar (#3) from sliding from side to side?

If everthing shown in the first picture is assembled correctly
there is very little side to side movement. If you remove everything
like in the 2nd picture then the shaft can and will slide out into
one of the tires. On my tractor you can't remove that
shaft without removing one of the tire/wheel assemblies.

That is correct from what I see. But apparently the shaft must have enough friction from the arm , when it lifts or returns to position that it spins in the position and would cause a problem .Thanks Ray

What is the purpose for the #3 shaft's length?
