Lift Hooks On A 200CX

I find them very handy for loading large things on my pickup truck. I bought a 50" tiller and used the hook's to unload the tiller off the truck. I use the hooks to put heavy stuff into my shed for the winter. I can't use the TPH because of the ROP.

Well EasyE, I use mine if I want to pull the snowmobiles out of the snowmobile trailer here at home, saves alot of backaches. I also use my hooks to hold my 6500w generator in the bucket when moving it to and from my pole barn. If I put a bunch of brush in the bucket and take it across the property I use rope through the loops to tie it in. I was going to use the same hooks as in a previous post, but wanted the added benefit of having loops to tie to. I was going to go to the steel supply and get a piece of heavy gauge channel iron 4" wide by 1" high by 61" long to weld to the top of my bucket and then put hooks, and a reece hitch on top of that but after checking with my dealer decided that the hd bucket was plenty strong enough to do it the way that I did without worrying about it bending or breaking. If you only have a standard duty bucket I would suggest maybe doing it that way. While you're at it get some 2"x 1/4" flat stock and weld some strips from the cutting edge to the back side of the bucket, and then put some 1/4" x 3" flat stock on the sides of the bucket. At that point you will have a hd bucket.

BTW,

I didn't do any shoring up of the bucket like some of you have done. My thinking, is that by the time a tractor of this size/class picks up something heavy enough to damage the bucket, it is going to tip over first. That is also something to think of if you have your hooks to the sides as I have; you could be picking up objects off-center and so caution and ballasting is something to give careful consideration to!

Here's what I came up with, I too wanted to have some extra lifting options with the 1200 or so pounds of lift capacity my 300cx was capable of. I bought the weld on chain hooks and was ready to go (was uncomfortable with grinding that new paint as Larry said) but started thinking that since the 300cx had a limited lift capacity, 3/8" chain was a little over kill and that nylon web slings would be better for what I would be doing. this is the result, I call it the bucket buddy, sure comes in handy for my needs. I did use one of the hooks but haven't tried it yet, the ball hitch and pintle get alot of use, was thinking about starting a new thread on my little invention (as far as I know it's different than anything I've seen) but figured I'd throw out here first. J.B.

( So what are the hooks on top of the loader used for? )

They are for carrying houses.

That last pic didn't show the hook at all, but just what was hanging on it. Here is another showing the hook. Works great for skinning and initial cut-up, being able to vary the working height.

beenthere,

You need to get a bigger monitor! /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif Just kidding. I have a 21" monitor and forget to downsize the pics a lot. Also, to use the attachment feature, I have to shrink down the pixel count. Too bad this site doesn't support (or if it does I'm unaware of it) clickable images, so that those without big monitors or with dial up speeds only see the smaller image and those who want can click on it and enlarge it. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
