I have a gmd 66 kuhn disc mower, I was wondering if they can be repaired and if so where and if anyone knows where I can buy a new on other than from the dealer or Kuhn. Mine is leaking out of the seal and it does not look serviceable.
The cylinder looks like it was put together at the factory and the welded at the factory it is closed on one end and does not have a snap ring on the other nor does it look like it was screwed together. My problem is it is only a 1000.00 dollar mower that we a going to use for a home school project and I hate to have to buy a 400.00 cylinder for it, I was told a cylinder off of a N.H. 462-463 or a J.D. 260 would be the same as a Kuhn GMD 66.
On the end that is not welded there should be an access hole (pipe plug) to remove the retaining ring. I've never done it, but have seen it in a service manual.
