Kioti, kubota
A friend of mine has a DK35 and was using a box blade to level gravel and he said it would not apply any down pressure to the box blade, his has both position and draft controls but he don't know anything about the tractor.

thats right no down pressure,it just lifts up and goes down and floats !
I think most tractors with 3 pt hitch dont have down pressure.

The 3 point has no down pressure.
I don't know of any current compact tractors that have a 3 point hitch with down pressure.

To get more pressure to the ground from the blade you need to add weight to the BB, the tractor won't push down as modern bull dozers do. My last attempt at adding ballast to the BB was very effective and involded strapping a 55 gallon plasitc drum to the top of the box and filling it with approximately 50 gallons of water. Then it would dig through the hardpan to china just as if it had down pressure. 50 gallons of water is about 400 lbs and the Frontier BB I have is about 350. Other folks have used concrete weights or hunks of steel.
