I decided it was time to replace my 15 year old GMC Sierra that I bought new in '03. It has 181k on it and was slowly increasing its oil usage. I have looked at everything new and used and finally chose a new 2018 F-150 XLT 4x4. This was a pretty serious move for me seeing as I had been driving GM trucks for the last 35 years. I have been driving some F-150s that we have at work at starting liking them.

The new truck has the 5.0L V8 with a 10 speed transmission. It is just an XLT but has several bells and whistles by my standards (simple). Things like heated seats, navigation, sat radio, Bluetooth will spoil a guy quick. More importantly it has a class IV tow hitch and has the 7000# GVWR package.

So far I am really liking this Ford. I had a sprayed in bed liner installed today and put some splash guards on it. Somebody said that I would miss my old truck but this one is making it hard to do that.

Welcome to the "Blue oval"
Buy the truck/vehicle you think will serve you the best, not the label. Congrats on your new truck!

Always been a Ford guy. But the difference between my last two trucks (2014 and 2016 F250) and my new 2017 F250 were big to me. The ride and cab quietness are a huge improvement.
Like kf4uda, the XLT option suits me just fine. But like him, my truck also came with heated seats, navigation and satellite radio. Just turned 55 so I guess these little creature comforts appeal to me a little more as the years go on. Especially the heated seats. The back really appreciates that on a cold snowy morning.

I upgraded from an '08 F250 to a '17 F350 in March, and I agree, what a difference these 2017 trucks are. WOW! I love mine!

Nice looking truck. We bought a 2017 about 3 months ago, mine is very similar but it is the Supercab, which has the smaller back seat. Mine is also an XLT but it seems loaded to me.

Thats a nice looking truck. A guy in my hunting club has one with the 5.0 V8. He really likes it a lot.
