Have another question here. On my new M7040,when i tilt the rear blade one way, the lever stays on like it is suppose to till its tilted all the way but it wont stay going the other way. I have to hold it there. Is there an adjustment or do i need to call the dealer?

Can you be a little more clear? Most hydraulic controls are supposed to "spring return to center" and not stay "on".

If i want to move my blade all the way to the left, i push the lever all the way and let go. When the blade is all the way, the lever pops back as it should. But when i pull the lever all the way back to move the blade the other way, it wont stay at all. I have to hold it there. It just pops back as soon as i let go.

I dont usually push or pull the levers all the way since usually a little bit of travel is all thats needed. Its just that i know the lever should stay until the cylinder has reached its end of travel and then pop back to center.

Sounds like the wrong valve might be installed.
Holds one side only?
Pops back from other?
Either wrong valve type or a spring loaded ball is not working.

I have never seen a valve like that-except on a logsplitter. Hopefully someone can help...

My log splitter stays on until the cylinder retracts all the way but doesnt when going forward. Just like its suppose to. Like i say, only one lever and only one way is this one messing up. The other lever will stay either direction until the end of movement.

How do you know??

Why wouldnt it? It does the other way and the other 2 levers stay till end of cycle.:confused2:

Just because the other lever stay on pressure detent, doesn't necessary mean this one is designed/meant to do the same thing. Pressure detent is a feature that only is safe on certain applications, and pressure detent have to be subject to safety precautions. "Spring to neutral" is a safety feature that make sure the actuator stops motion if operator gets an "heart attack".

If you have a valve from the "garbage bin" that operates your hydraulic applications with pressure detent, it is a good idea to review if that make common sense.
