Cut in foward with a downward angle and carefully level the bucket while continuing foward until the bucket is full. then use a slight upward angle to scoop the loose dirt and dump. when you return to your trench, lay the bucket in level and continue on. Backblade when you are done cutting to smooth in the holes, ruts, etc. and to level the fill areas. As mentioned above, fix the ripples as soon as you get them, or you'll have a mess real fast.
