Or otherwise modified rear 3-pt implements for enhanced practicality!

I don't even have a box blade yet, but it is very high on the desired-implements list. It sounds like a lot of folks here keep it on the rear of their CUTs almost all the time. I am in the process of breaking ground on an overgrown parcel of land, so a box blade is an obvious choice for ground shaping and root tearing, etc.

However, I still need to be able to tow around a trailer, skid logs, etc. And taking off the box blade every time I want to do any of this seems like a major pain. And it's always good to have more rear ballast weight by keeping it mounted.

So, I thought I saw a picture once of a box blade with a tow hitch. How about a log skidding boom / chain hook? What about a tool box, battery box, or winch mount? Maybe a chainsaw holster?

Seems like a box blade with accessories could be the ULTIMATE rear 3-pt attachment. Anyone have pics or experience to share? Thanks in advance!

Where would you mount your trailer hitch on a rollover?;)
I'd like to see how folks have reinforced a regular 550lb 6' box blade as it seems I missed my chance at a 7' hyd. gannon box blade of doom...:(

When I use a chain or cable for towing with the box blade installed, I just raise it and hook to the tractor drawbar.

For towing... a log? Trying to think what else you would tow with a "chain or cable". I know I have some log skidding in my future. I do NOT want to tow them flat on the ground, as I understand it makes a mess of things and dull chainsaw blades in a hurry. So I need to get the front end of the log elevated somehow.

My concern for towing a trailer is that a box blade is not going to be able to be raised high enough to safely couple a trailer under it to the drawbar. Nor would that be at all convenient, if it could.

I would go into those 2 scarifying slots in the center rear and make a QD plug in and out hitch. Ken Sweet

I tow mostly stumps, rocks, and bundles of treetops or brush.

I plan to add a receiver hitch tube from front to back of the box blade for other uses.

A hook on the top rear of a rear blade center frame or box blade would seem to be a good place to tow a log from, if not too heavy. Hook it up tightly with blade down, lift the blade and log, and go. Or put a block under the end of the log before final hitching to get it higher. The blade shields the end of the log kind of like the logging winch attachments. The implement prevents a rear rollover if the log snags somehow.

Ken, great idea on mounting up a hitch on a rollover. I got a used Gannon just as pictured but like new though. I will have to add the hitch idea to the "WIGATIL--when I get around to it list." So who made it and who put there names on it if you happen to know? Was just wondering.

Good luck Deezler with your boxblade search. I you have patience used is the way to go. Most people buy and only use a couple of times then it sits till they sell it.

A great mod I made about 9 yr ago, was mounting 1 scarifyer on the end of my box blade plate with 2 bolts and adjustable height. Perfect for putting low voltage electric lines in and small PVC water feed lines to the goldfish pond used for filling after water evaporation. I almost forgot, I ran a Cat 5 Internet cable 300 ft about the same time with this setup and worked perfectly. Working depth was 2-6 inches. You can also do this mod on the side plate of your front loader bucket. Ken Sweet

Here is what I did to add weight not fancy but its 350# extra in a small area its a harmonic balancer off a big natural gas compressor engine.
