rScotty I believe you just hit the nail on the head. I'm beginning to wonder if there is a perfect tractor? A compromise is defiantly in order or else I'll be watching from the sidelines instead of getting all that "fun" done.
I would like to thank everyone for their input. Just when I think I have it figured out, someone makes me think a little more, which is a good thing!
Time to go work on my dealer.

Go with a cab. I am in northern Michigan and have both cabbed and open tractors. Trust me, I suffered for years when I was younger and broke with open station tractors. Think about the Kubota LX 2610. Make sure you get the rear wiper. I have a a M6040 and a L4760 in the northern lower and in the UP.

cointoss I am pretty much set on the LX2610. With all the feedback I was given it, will also have a cab. I need to visit the dealership and physically hop in one. I will be checking to see if the doors pop off and now also making sure it has a rear wiper. I had assumed that would be included for the $. Guys and gals have been sharing their years of experience with me saving me time and money. I hope I get the chance to return the favor some day!:construction:

I’m from northeastern MN. Couldn’t imagine snowblower w/o cab. Oh, wait, my walk-behind when I lived in the Twin Cities. Yeah, those younger days in snowmobile suit getting back inside looking like a snowman. That was miserable. Now my worst problem is wiper not clearing the windshield fast enough when blowin’ in the wind. Get the cab.

MHarryE Thanks for your advice. I checked with my dealership and the doors do pop off the LX2610 so I will have the best of both worlds. Now I just have to get a snow brush log enough: laughing:

Going4it, I went through the same thought process as you, and decided on pretty much the same tractor as you. I got with my dealer and had him put my name on the first one coming in, since they are very popular and hard to get after the initial allocations are gone. If you want an LX you'd better grab one now or it might be a long search. Anyway, my LX2610 HSDC cab model came in last week and will be delivered next week. It's also my first real tractor (some would argue that point) and I got everything I thought I'd need for our new property. Front snow blower, grapple, front auger, box blade, loader. R14 tires, spacers, chains. I saw the tractor last week and it is much nicer in person than I expected! Can't wait for next winter and the snow.

Alpo4 she is a beauty! Congratulations on your new purchase! I also ordered one with the loader, front blower, box blade, and pallet forks. I added the R14 tires and ballast too. I may need the chains, we'll see. I'll take delivery in the near future and start breaking her in right away. I didn't opt for the grapple , yet. I have a feeling that I will need it though. I'm hopping to get by with the forks alone. Good luck with your LX.
This forum is extremely helpful and I would like to thank everyone who threw there two cents into the pot. No doubt saved me a lot of grief, and cash.

I have owned 3 kubota tractors, 2 with cabs and one without. By far the cab tractors have been much more pleasant to use summer and winter. A 600 ft driveway will take an hour to blow and that will be cold. As far as all this anti cab talk for woods use is crazy. All wood processing equipment have enclosed cabs.

I agree with others stating your should hire out the land clearing. That isnt an ideal role for a tractor. I looked heavily into snow blowers. The rear blower to me is terrible on your body( facing backwards for an hour) but with 600 ft maybe it wont be that bad. The front blowers are much better (with MidPTO not hydraulics), but hard to get on/off if you do other things with the FEL. Machine looks like a bunch of fun!

Richard I am all in with a new LX2610 cab. Looking forward to playing in the snow. Thank you for your input.
