You can always distill it and drink the condensate, too.
As we all should...there are a lot of new "first" aid products that have made treating wounds etc. much better... for instance...fabric bandages/patches that have integrated antibiotics etc. that are meant to be left on for much longer than typical bandages etc...likewise there are a lot of products for broken bones and more serious injuries available now that were not available just a few years ago......I still think we need a better first aid kit, though. Gotta work on that one.
Most of my "prepper" friends have enough medical knowledge and supplies for an afternoon, enough water for a few days, enough food for a month, and enough guns and ammo to supply an infantry squad for a year.....Antibiotics are essential. You can get these without a prescription by buying bird/fish antibiotics. These are the exact thing your doctor prescribes for you.
If you are one to consider the possibility of massive grid failure - lasting for many months - this will make sense to you.
I read a brief summary of a CIA study saying that with in 6 months of a total power grid failure, they expected something like 85% fatality, and after 12 months 90%. Think it stabilized at that point.
So, something no one has mentioned is deeds, car titles, marriage license, ect. Not sure if in a longer term event your "proof" of ownership would mater, and depending on the event possibly could be used against you ( ie Kulaks in 1920s Ukraine).
Don't be worried about vitamins. It's CALORIES that are needed. If you are getting those, the body can do amazing things.
Not many calories in weeds. But I bet there are lots and lots of vitamins, and minerals too!
