Hey all, I have come to be the proud owner of 24 acres of overgrown woods, weeds and briar. I own no equipment, have never set a finger on a tractor and have absolutely no idea what I am doing. So, hopefully this site will serve to open my eyes and keep me from making any fatal errors.

Are you old enough to remember the old TV show "Green Acres"??? LOL!!!

If there are any older residents in the area I strongly suggest befriending them. They'll be a wealth of information.

Oh yeah....and don't take it personal if after 10 years you're still referred to as "the new folks down the road".

Ask questions, read a lot, etc etc.

I'll just tell you right now. You will get a tractor.
Then you'll have to learn to weld.
Then you'll be come an expert on all things called lubricants.
Then you'll start making excuses to your wife on your whereabouts.. (Riding the tractor)
Then you'll start cruizing ebay and craigslist for tractors.
Then you'll try to start making up reasons you need another tractor..

At some point, you'll then have to do the 12 tractor steps..

It's wicked I tell ya!
