12"+ and counting... drifting 2'+ no signs of letting up.

Looks awful familiar, winds sure drove it into tight drifts in the valley.

Drove back to Ottawa yesterday, roads were single lane with the second snow packed until just north of Fredericton, made for a longer drive than usual. Looked like the south half of NB and NS have gotten more snow than northern NB so far this year, that's a switch.

Yeah, we've got lots here at the head of the valley.. I'm waiting til tomorrow to move any of it.

Sean

Supposed to be a much nicer day today I think, not a bad idea at all if you don't have to go anywhere.

Definitely better weather, I cleaned it up yesterday. We have more snow piled up now than we had all last winter.

We sure don't have the winters of the 50, 60, but this end of the country, we still get 4 seasons, with no hurricanes or typhoons.

I'm from Ct I remember when I was 18-20 years old the snow was never this slippery when you had a 1" on the ground . I had a 78 impala and drove around all day till the snow was as high as my undercarriage then went home. I'd rather a few inches than a coating. Friday we got 10",yesterday it was -2 deg making the snow light.

I do remember when I was young in the 60s in northern New Brunswick snow removal equipment wasn't plows, it was grators and large payloaders loading dump trucks. Signs were posted and police drove around using megaphones reminding parents of the threat to kids playing around power lines on top of snow banks along side of the road.

There was more snow back then, no denying it. Don't know if there were more autos around but it sure seems like there are a lot fewer pieces of equipment removing snow today then I remember were around back then.

Here in North Idaho we have finally gotten some snow. between 4-5 inches fell overnight More in the forecast. I was worrying we were going to have a snow free year. Our ski resorts have all but closed down.

well have to see what the week will bring. time to go clear some driveways.

In typical Valley fashion the weather has turned milder, which of course brings with it the rain and fog before returning to more seasonable temps.

The problem with that type of weather of course is if you have any snow you want or need to move you best get it done before temps go below freezing again because they will be solid blocks of ice once the cycle is complete.
