I just made a plane leveler to level my gravel road to my house. Does any one know how much of the blade needs to below the main frame. I think it's about 1.5" but not sure.

Not sure what the real name of this attachments but it made with main beams that are 48" by 12" that makes tthe side it has 2 angles that weld to bottom and are caddy cornered from each other. The blades mount to the angle. Then it has the 3 point frame welded on the top side.

This is what I made. The angles are welded to the bottom with blades on them.

From what I can tell from all the different posts that I have read about this, the cutting edges will be anywhere from flush with the bottom to 1" below the sides. I think that in one of them the guy put his front cutting edge below the sides and his rear cutting edge flush with the sides. I know that on both of my units that were factory built, both cutting edges are 1" below the sides.

It looks like you did a very nice job building your scraper.

On my store bought grader/scraper the depth of cut is adjustable. I have mine set to about 3/4" below the skids, works well for me. I also have a hydraulic top link which I fiddle with to take less of a cut if desired. You can do that with a manual top link too, just takes a bit longer to get it to the best spot.
