Lenar 254-II
Any tricks for getting clutch unstuck? I have a ratchet strap holding the pedal down and sprayed some PB blaster up into the clutch assembly from the bottom access hole.
I have a friend with an L series Kubota that had success with this method. Just wondering if anyone has any special tricks if this doesnt work. I have already chained the tractor to a tree and started it in low range. With clutch in, but no release. I dont think its a good idea to do this in a higher gear with a lot of slack. Dont want to end up like the cruiser in American Graffiti, that had the rear end ripped out of it.

UPDATE: Got it unstuck! But not after going through ****!
I had my Wife follow me to the School Admin Building two houses down from us. Drove around the parking lot with the tractor clutch pedal held down with a 4x4. Did figure 8s, stood on each brake, then both at once. Neighbors probably thought I was nuts with the jerking and screeching of tires. Drove the thing back home. The next attempt involved loosening all 6 pressure plate bolts and sprayed more PB Blaster in there. Used a prybar on the pressure plate with tractor in gear and handbrake on. Rocked it back and forth... Nothing. I was really getting sick of looking at the bottom of this piece of crap. Removed all but 1 pressure plate bolt. At this point, I tried prying the drive disk away from the flywheel with a long skinny screwdriver and was able to see a gap on about 2/3 of the disc. That last third just wouldnt separate. I jammed an electricians steel fish tape in one of the gaps of the disc/flywheel, worked it around a bit and within 5 minutes, the disc was free! I couldnt believe it. After finally getting to drive it, I found out that the pedal doesnt have to be pushed in too far to release clutch.
Stay tuned for the "Starter Story"

As an afterthought, would it be helpful to ratchet-strap the clutch pedal down when you lay up the tractor for extended periods? Seems like it would make life easier.
