LED Lighting For John Deere GT225 Garden Tractor

I have a John Deere GT225 garden tractor. I bought it new a number of years ago. While I don't operate it all that much after dark, the OEM lighting is pretty mediocre. It would appear that the OEM bulbs are simply 1156 incandescent bulbs. I know that there is, or at least was, a quartz halogen kit with heat shields more more lighting. I am interested in using LEDs. What are some of the LEDs that have a good number of lumens that I should consider?

I upgraded to LED's a few years ago. They did not work at first. I reversed the leads at the sockets and they lit. LED - Light Emitting Diode. They were brighter, but I wanted more light so I purchased some LED's meant for off-roading. They are in their own cans and I still used the original John Deere headlight wiring. Love 'em.

I did the same thing to my 345. Just buy any 1156 replacement and they will work. It's a crap shoot as to brightness and color but you can get them pretty cheaply on Amazon or eBay (around $8 for 2 bulbs) so you may need to try a few to get ones you like. I don't remember which ones I ended up with.

The only downside is they don't make heat like incandescents or halogens so during the winter I get some snow buildup on the lenses but it's not enough to be a problem.

Name brand LED bulbs are usually worth the investment. CREE is a major LED brand.

I had bought a pair from Wal-Mart. Iwasn't sure if I was going to even keep them. Then, the John Deere had to go in for service. I will probably just stick with those. They do seem better than the OEM incandescent bulbs.

I replaced the halogens on my X590 with these. Worked great, night vision is much improved:
