I bought a 40' one last year for $3200 delivered. It was on a trailer with rollers. After I showed him where to put it, he backed up quickly and hit the brakes. The box slid off the trailer until only about 10' was still on the trailer. He drove out from under that. We had put a cross-tie about under the middle of the box and used that as a fulcrum to lift the back end to put blocks under it. He used his winch on the trailer to lift the other end to put blocks under it. Took about 20 minutes to unload and block it.
I have now put a roof over it and partitioned it into a 12' storage room and a 28' bunkhouse with lights, AC, bathroom, bunk beds, couch and recliner. It is across the back of the barn/shop in my avatar photo. It has a lean-to roof off the back of the barn.
Before I put the roof over it, I measured the temp of the roof with IR thermometer at mid day at 147 to 154 degrees (south Texas). Just as a test, I painted half the roof with white Rustoleum. That reduced the temp by about 20 degrees. Now with the roof, it is only slightly hotter than ambient temp. The 12k btu ac takes care of that.

Containers have to be built to international standards, one of which requires the corner posts can handle 8 high stacking. They only set on the corners when stacked.

To the original poster: You will need to add additional ventilation to your containers. I learned this the hard way. I had a 40' in Illinois. If it was a cool humid night, followed by a sunny warm morning, the cool humid air that made its way inside the container during the night would accumulate on every surface inside and be very wet. It rained off the ceiling inside. This lead to mold issues, water damage on things and rust. I put about a 2 sq foot attic vent at floor level at each end and a turbine roof vent in the ceiling about a quarter of the way in from each end. Moisture problem was completely solved instantly.
