I have a couple hydraulic rams on my Hydra-Mac skid steer that leak fluid around the seal. I don't think I can find parts for this machine any more so how would I proceed in rebuilding the rams? Do rebuilt units hold up, what are the pros and cons.

Thanks,
David

You could take the cylinders to a local hydraulic shop to be rebuilt, the should be able to get the seals needed. There are places online to get seals from, but you will have to disassemble them yourself and accurately measure the existing seals before ordering new ones.

As long as the bores or rods are not scared or gouged then rebuilding them is the accepted practice and will work just fine.
