Nope, no black locust trees here. I get your point however. I will run my hand inside the tires before I go to clean them tomorrow.

My dad always used an old rag to check the inside of the tire, It will catch on anything in there, plus it might be less painful than dragging a hand across a nail or thorn!

I had a leak at the valve stem. I have this little valve kit with a twist tool key. I just tightened the inner valve. If it's bad inner valve it can be replaced easily.

Yeah, that would have been nice. Its a hole in the tube somewhere instead. Of course.

Pump up the tube. Find leak and find match on tire. Of course if you did not index the tire to the valve stem hole then that trick does not work. Also be aware that if the tire has a slight cut a new tube can start leaking soon. You can get fabric reinforced patches for the inside of the tire that can help if it has a slice. Or you can get the tire professionally applied hot vulcanized patch.

Another good idea but no, I did not index the tire to the stem.
