Leaking sight glass

My L3010 GST has a leak around the hyd fluid sight glass. Is it pretty easy to remove this sight glass to reseal, and has anyone done it?

Had the same thing on my L3010. Easy to fix. Pick up a new sight glass at the dealer and a tube of RTV black sealer.

1) I backed my tractor up on some car ramps so the rear was sitting up in the air,

2)took a small screw driver and pryed the old glass out. (you may have a little oil leak out, i lost less than a pint)


3)clean real well around the opening with carburator cleaner to remove any oil make sure you clean the hole.

4)took some black RTV sealer (get it at the auto supply store) put a bead around the new site glass and pushed it back into its hole. Had to tap lightly with the palm of my hand. held it in place for a few minutes untill it didn't try and push itself out

4)Thats it, all done. I let mine sit over night with its rear in the air to make sure the RTV cured. next day drove it off the ramps checked the level and put her to work,
