First time dealing with hydraulics. No stranger to plumbing and hoping this falls under that sort of fix. I have an open center Deere 2040 with a fairly heavy leak up front. Appears to be under the pump. I cleaned the area (lots of debris and caked on crud) but can't clearly identify source of the leak. I already drained the system from a planned fluid change.

Is there any advice other than fill the system and run again to see if there's an obvious source?

One thing I noticed before was that it appeared to continue leaking even when not running and the system was depressurized. That may be just because there was so much debris that it held oil and continued to drip long after running. Or is it possible for leaking to continue even when depressurized? That wouldn't make sense to me, but I'm here to learn.

Thanks for any help

Doesn't appear to have a plate, just the frame. Looks like any work/inspection would be done from above...requiring removal of fuel tank and air filter. I've done that before and was trying to avoid it for a while until some other projects were finished first.

I'm guessing I need to at least fill the fluid back up and run it to see if I can spot anything obvious?

I believe I found it. Looks like it's coming from a fitting on the right side of pump.
