LB1914 Replacement Fan Belt is Too Long

E5205-72533 (HM37") is listed as the genuine Kioti replacement belt for my tractor. When the new belt was installed, the adjuster on the dynamo is extended nearly to the end. It still feels slightly too loose. While awaiting the arrival of the Kioti belt, I came across an entry where someone suggested that a belt from an autoparts store would fit. I cross-referenced that part number to Gates Truflex 1360. Interestingly, the Gates belt is 36", not 37" like the Kioti belt. I expect to replace, in the near future, the Kioti 37" belt with the Gates 36". I am wondering if anyone else has experienced this.

I have always taken my old belt to the auto parts store for replacements. Usually cheaper and a lot of the parts house brands have a better warranty.

Yes, I would have but after 21 years, the belt shredded making length and width impossible to determine
