LB1914 Oil

Ok so the time has come for my first oil change on my Orange Baby. What do you guys use in your Kioti's? I notice in the forum on Oil and Lubricants that people have made statements like "90 percent of the tractors out there use 15W40" is this true and apropriate for a Kioti?

Also is there a Filter Cross reference available for the LB1914? I live in Southern CT and had to buy the tractor from MA about 3 hrs away so its not just a short run down to the dealer like it is for my John Deere.

15w-40 probably is the most used.
The only problem is in cold weather it sure does get thick.
Where I work, we kept 15w-40 in 55 gal. drums in an unheated building and in the winter you have a hard time even pumping it out of the drums !
That is the main reason I switched to synthetic oil,it doesn't seam to thicken so bad in cold weather .

you should be able to go to the local Napa store for your oil filter.

Rphil,
Check your owners manual for what type oil is required.
We use Shell Rotella-T here.
Also, I think Wix has a cross referance for the kioti filter, your local autoparts sore probably has a referance manual but you can probably order your filters and have them shipped to you cheaper than buying aftermarket filters.

I bought my Kioti from a dealer in Bridgewater, Ct. Cambell Services. They carry filters, etc. Bridgewater is about 15 miles west of Waterbury. Hope this helps.
Ps. I use Mobil 1 10w-30w. Its rated CF which is a replacement for the obsolete CD rating.
