Lawn Tractor (Hydro Gear) Hydrostatic Drives

Has anyone out there done any work on one of the Hydro-Gear type hydrostatic drives used in some of the "era 1990", Cub Cadet Lawn Tractors?? Does anyone have a hydrostatic service manual to refer to for one of these units??
The hydrostatic fluid in my resevoir is "brown" in color, is this the correct color for normal fluid on this unit? Also looking for information on how the reverse circuit works on this hydro-drive. Would appreciate any help! Thanks........... /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

Try emailing hydro-gear.com, but most all hydro-gear units run 15w-50 / 20w-50 (basically the same oil).

Yes. Mobil-1 20w-50 is usually the easiest to get / most readily available.
