Looking for a pair of lawn mower tires sized 23-10x12. Looking for a tire that's a bit more agressive than stock and will provide good lateral traction because I mow cross slopes. Tires need to be turf friendly so no bar lugs. Radials would be awesome. Suggestions appreciated!

If anyboy is interested, I have a good set of 23-8x12 tires on rims but they're foam filled. They'll laugh off punctures, but the ride is a bit too harsh for my bad back.

Think a Carlisle All Trail is too aggressive for a turf application? This mower isn't a zero turn, but it's very close so I don't want the tires to be tearing up chunks.

What kind of mower is it?

Toro Groundsmaster 328. This would be for the drive tires.

Before I got my 4wd BX, I had a traditional riding mower with Carlisle AT101 bar/ag tires. The design made them very turf friendly... unless you got carried away and spun them. Not hard to control though. Great tires.

Yea, the chevron tires would be terrible on a cross slope. They'd go up an down just fine, but not enough tread to the side. Ended up ordering the Carlisle Turf Smarts last night. These are smoother than I was envisioning, but they're the only tire that lists "steep slopes" as one of their attributes. From what I read on some lawn mowing forums, they preferred a square shoulder tire on the slopes so that's an another advantage to the Smarts.

The Chevrons work EXCELLENT on any slope side or up and down. They do however make a mess.
I have them on a CLub Cadet Tank M50 with 150 lbs extra weight on the rear. Those Turf Smarts don't look at all aggressive enough for most hills.

This problem would be best listed in the mower section. However, a short reply, I did just replace my Carlisle Turfmaster tires with Carlisle All Trail ATV Tires. they're 23X10.50-12 on a Husqvarna Garden Tractor, and work super in both mud as well as on slopes. These are discussed more in the mower section, Husqvarna topic.

At101's are the best tire I have ever had on a ztr. They grip just as well side slope as they do up and down.

They don't make a mess if you know how to use them. And actually make less mess than standard turfs imo

Those turf smarts actually look less aggressive than stock. And look like you would slide everywhere on hills. And be stuck in the slightest damp conditions.

Yea, I know. Sadly I got more feedback the day after I ordered them than over several days prior. That said, there are a lot of biting edges and siping.

Biting edges and siping are great for ice or pavement, but not dirt and grass. Look at ag tires. Excellent on dirt, suck on ice.

I would see if you can return or exchange them. I really don't think there is a better tire than an at101. They only mess up the lawn if you are careless and don't and don't know what you are doing. And I can stick to the side of my 30 degree pond bank on wet grass with no issues at all.
