But the JD cab and I believe the NH cab do not have AC which is one of the biggest requirements here in the states. People need AC because those cabs make a lot of heat in the summer. So even if they could adapt them to the US standards they would still have to figure a way to rework the machines to add AC. Easier to start a brand new model from the ground up.

Robert, when I bought my tractor in 2001, my dealer had a cab on a TC45 with air conditioner. When I asked, he said it was an aftermarket unit made by a local (North TX) company, but I didn't pursue it any further except to look closely and see that the cab was very well made. The cabs are available, but not with NH's name on them.

To me, cabs look way to big on CUTs and anything smaller. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Re: TZ18 and 24 - Pic 2 of 2

just so i'm understanding this thread...NH is beginning a new line of subcompacts....the tz series. ?and the tc series will have the 18 dropped and the 21 and 24 basically the same but in some new styling? please tell me the 24 isn't going to have those 6" rear wheels the subcompacts have.

i think the new styling looks like the isuzu vehicross SUV

I think I saw one at the Deerfield fair last year. It was at the Rosencrantz area (John Deere dealer). The tractor looked quite used, but the cab looked awesome.

I swiped the cab. I guess I saw the picture first, and I wanted it, so I took it. It won't fit my tractor, but I'm thinking of using it for my portable outhouse project. You can't have it back. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

The New Models were actually on the New Holland web site a while back for a week or so. They had both the existing TC's and the new ones. Then poof, they disappeared. They do exist in the form of a press release I believe.

Finally picked up some literature and looked at the new models. Not sure about the new headlights and hood, liked the old version better.

Re: TZ18 and 24 - Pic 2 of 2

I got the March 2004 issue of the New Holland News in the mail today. There was an ad for the subcompacts on page 19. The picture shows a TZ24D next to a Porsche. Interesting ad, but NH and Porsche wouldn't be the comparison I would normally make. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

The ad also sends you to newholland.com/na to learn more, but there's no mention of the subcompacts on the products page. The larger Boomers are still pictured with the "old" styling, instead of the new "Ford Focus" style headlamps.

Hey, I read it for the articles, but sometimes I like to look at the pictures! (Even Mrs. AndyM was reading it tonight.)

The add may have been premature. The launch date for the subcompacts has been pushed back until sometime in April.

Re: TZ18 and 24 - Pic 2 of 2

I didn't like the new look at first, but after several stops at the dealer and climbing on the old vs. the new, it's grown on me. Now I like it more than the old styling.

Alot of people had that same reaction when they did the last cosmetic changes from the square nosed 20 series but they soon got over it. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Re: TZ18 and 24 - Pic 2 of 2

Spencer200, I could get over the lights (even though I'll always think they are gawdy). What I'm not sure about is if NH really needed to raise the front of the hood line back up. I love the visibility over the front of my tractor. I admit I've only looked closely at the style changes on the Class III tractors and I'm a little biased toward mine. It's amazing how good a "paid for" tractor looks. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Now here are some things I really like about the new Class III tractors:
1. They have eliminated the air vent on top of the hood. That means no more water all over everything every time it rains.

2. They have put a cover and vent hose over the battery. I guess NH got tired of replacing parts under warranty.

Here is one thing that's a personal pet peeve. Why do the rear lights have to be mounted on the outside of the ROPS. If they were on the inside, they wouldn't be easy targets for limbs. I guess it's a case of more visibility= more exposure and NH chose visibility. Oh well, I don't need lights in the woods anyhow. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif
