Last minute implement recommendation

Our new baby is ready for delivery. The Dealer was waiting for the cutter to arrive from Land pride.

Please recommend -

Post hole digger - we believe we want a heavy duty with a 9" auger to start. Initially we need to do a fence. Later on - the sky's the limit. Should we finance a Land Pride through Kubota or can we save money and buy one somewhere else -or- is there one that is 'better' that we should buy because it makes more sense?

Box blade - we believe we want extremely heavy. We need a very long driveway and want to carve in atv/mx trails. Not sure how wide we would want? Not sure on the weight? Are the scarifiers relative to the width? Should we finance a Land Pride through Kubota or can we save money and buy one somewhere else -or- is there one that is 'better' that we should buy because it makes more sense?

Disc? Tiller?

Are there any other implements that are "simply awesome" that we should do through Land Pride/Kubota? We are open to suggestions. And yes - I browsed the attachment forum - I like this one better!

Top and Tilt, this is a great addition when blading or using any implement off the 3PH

The box Blade should be as wide as the wheel track outside to outside.
Land pride makes nice box blades and your right the heavier the better.


The Box Blade I would probably buy and finance with the tractor.
The Post hole digger I would shop around. The only significant difference in them is if you get one with the down pressure kit. You could really go top shelf and get one the is hydraulic and mounts to the FEL they have forward and reverse.

I am pretty much in agreement with dex3361. I have a hydraulic top-link, but not TnT. Having used one it is on my list, but my projects don't really call for one right now.

As for the tiller/disk that is a hard one. I have yet to find a good, non wheeled disk that works well without plowing first. We use a disk, but plow first. I have a small 50" tiller for small areas. A tiller for the M7040 is going to cost a lot and I can't justify the cost for my needs when a $200 used moldboard plow and medium duty disk and drag harrow gets the job done.

Hopefully, someone with more experience can help.

Only time will tell you the other implements you really need. I would wait so you don't wind up like some of us with money tied up in implements you don't really use.

If you are purchasing your tractor at 0% interest through Kubota, you should also include the Land Pride and any other implements with the deal. Their insurance is all that is required and it covers anything purchased along with the tractor. My dealer gave me a better price on my implements than if purchased elsewhere.

I would get the implements that you want with the tractor. I really like and use a tiller more than most. The tilt top kit??? It would be nice but never had one on any tractor so I don't know what I am missing. Post hole digger get one with hydraulic down pressure. I use the grapple and pallet forks all the time and the 4n1 bucket. But everyones budget/uses are differant.

Anything you get you will be glad you got the heavy duty not junk bottom of line after you have paid for it.

Buy a medium or large tree planting auger and you will never require any other auger when you buy it-the tapered auger and carbide cutters will allow quick digging with no bouncing and the taper allows it to just suck its self in nicely because there is no side wall resistance or rocks sticking out.
You will have to shovel a little more dirt back in the hole but thats a minor issue when compared to using a small auger and having it bounce all over and break shear pins.

The small augers are a pain with hard ground and they will also try to make the hole larger from side to side simply because they bang around so much.



Trple R is right in what he is telling you as far as implements goes, as they are very pricey in that size; a used plow and replacement Weiss conservation tillage plow shares will suck down to 14 inches and bury your residue.


Even if you buy a large tree planting auger you can dig shallow holes quickly with the tapered head because there is no side wall resistance.

I've wasted most of my free time today doing trailer research (there is a thread over in the trailer section if anyone is bored and wants to add input there too).

Tuffline disc-its adjustable-Tuffline box blade-they are made heavy duty.Buy good stuff-it will be will worth it-check them out.

Since you haven't bought any attachments yet, get the 3rd function valve for your FEL (it's like $1k and easy to install -- if your mechanically inclined) and get a skid-steer hydraulic post hole digger. I used a trencher on mine the other day and it rocks!

If you can afford it -- or if you are going to turn around and buy the implements right away anyway -- finance it with your tractor purchase. Can't beat the 0% financing. That is, unless Land Pride does not give you what you want.

I only have two implements from Land Pride -- a rotary cutter and a grading scraper -- but they are top notch. Land Pride makes some dang good stuff. (I'm sure other do too, but you can roll the cost of Land Pride stuff into the tractor loan.)

Whatever you do, DO NOT get a hold of Land Pride's implement catalog. You will find a lot of things to buy!

I could not agree more to the Hydraulic Top Link recommendation. After I bought and installed mine, I was amazed how nice it is to have and use.

Never had a top-n-tilt, so I don't know what I am missing. I probably wont ever get one.

First off, congratulations on the new tractor. :cool2: One of the very first things to check on for your tractor is to be sure that you have all 3 rear remotes, if not, get them. Secondly be sure to get the electro-hydraulic valve for the front. You will need that for your 4n1 loader bucket that you need and the root grapple that you will get for clean up. It is nice to have the hydraulic self leveling loader as well, might double check on that also. Oh yeah, be sure that you have skid steer attach on your loader.

After that you should consider the "TnT" hydraulics for your 3pt hitch. With all the grading that your going to be doing on those roads and trails, "TnT" is the only way to go.

For your grading purposes, you might want to consider a few different implements. Keep in mind that for your size tractor, most ALL grading implements should be in the 1k+ lb department. To start with I would get a Land Pride RBT3596 or RBT4096 with skid shoes and hydraulic angling. Offset hydraulic boom is nice also, but you would need to add even more rear hydraulic controls. (4 total, 2 for "TnT" and 2 for the rear blade) I think that Kubota only offers 3 factory rear remotes. You may also want to consider a Land Pride LR35 with hydraulic offset. Landscape rakes are a very useful implement also. For maintaining that long drive, a road grading blade is the only way to go. LP does not have one of these that is big enough to suit your tractor. May want to check on a Road Boss or a Grademaster grader blade. I would recommend a 7 footer myself, but others might say an 8. Remember heavy is what you want when your grading. As far as a box blade, keep in mind that what one company says is heavy duty does not make it heavy duty. Again a minimum of 1000lbs and heavier would be better. I would get a 7 foot wide with hydraulic operated scarifiers. Should have a 22"-24" tall box. Land Pride does not offer anything heavy enough that I know of. Gannon box blades use to be the best, Woods now owns them and has shut down the old Gannon factory, so I can not recommend a box blade at this time. But you should consider an industrial or commercial quality in my opinion.

Land Pride has very good post hole diggers. I would get a PD35 with hydraulic down pressure kit. You can get by with a PD25, but I would get the PD35 for the lower gear ratio. Think about what size holes you need besides that 9"er. As has been mentioned, a 24" tree auger is very nice for planting, but you might want a 12" & or an 18" too.

One last thing, a set of skid steer loader forks, always nice to be able to unload or load or just move pallets and other stuff around. :thumbsup:

I hope that some of this will help you, all of my recommendations are based on my own personal experience. I'm sure that there are other implements that you can use, mower etc, but these are a few for you to consider.

Just bought a Woods PHD 95 and what a difference quality makes. I wished I would have had it for the last ten years. Mass and weight do amazing things when digging holes.
